In celebration of the first completed school year, the student council will host a country-themed festival at the track and field Friday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Proceeds collected will be divided amongst the student council and the Truman Breast Cancer Foundation.
This event is free for both the community and students who want to attend.
Entertainment:
Student council has invited country singer Coffey Anderson to perform at 8:30 p.m.
Opening for him is a student performance by cheer abilities at 7:40 p.m., junior Joyous Mack at 8:00 p.m., and Sophie Kim at 8:20.
Games and inflatables such as an obstacle course, a dunk tank, and a mechanical bull will be set up on the field for enjoyment.
Clubs and organizations will set up booths and games for people to visit and learn about the various extracurricular activities.
Vendors and sponsors will have booths set up along the Wildcat Alley to sell or promote products.
At the end of the night, a firework display will light up the sky to end the festival in a final celebration beginning at 9:45 p.m.
Food
Hardy’s barbecue team will offer homemade barbecue sandwiches right off the grill. Kona Ice, Cane’s, and Dillas food trucks and concessions sold by student council members will be set up.
However, people can bring water, soda, or sports drinks to the event.
Awards and Prizes
Best Boot Contest: A trophy will be awarded to the person with the best cowboy boots.
Cane’s Raffle: People can enter a $5 raffle to win free canes for a year.
