Voting 101: Quick Guide to Voting

As the 2024 Presidential Election approaches, registered seniors have the opportunity to vote. The process can be intimidating, and state guidelines can be difficult to navigate. Below is information on general election voting. 

The Collin County general election dates can be found on the graphic to the left or on the Collin County voting website. Additional early voting locations can be found here, and additional election day voting locations can be found here. For more information about absentee and by-mail voting, click here. 

Voters will be asked to show one of the seven forms of identification at the polling locations: 

Texas Drivers License issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS),

Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS,

Texas Personal Identification Card issued by DPS,

Texas Handgun License issued by DPS, 

United States Military Identification Card issued containing the person’s photograph,  

United States Citizenship Certificate containing the person’s photograph. 

United States Passport (book or card).

You can find a sample ballot here by typing in your address. This ballot can be completed on paper and used when filling out the actual voting ballot. Phones are not permitted when voting.
