When the craving for a cookie comes, most typically think of either Crumbl or Crave Cookies. However, senior Noah Rose has started his own cookie business, Soul Bakery. His business rivals both establishments, but which of the three truly is the best?

#3: Crumbl
Crumbl was serving the flavors Cereal Milk, Cookies and Cream, Banana Bread, Original M&M, Chocolate Chip, and the Dubai Chocolate Brownie. Overall, Crumbl’s cookies tend to run extremely sweet. Despite trying the minis, it felt sickening to eat all of the cookies. Most of them tasted as expected, but there was nothing special that would make someone want to go back for more. The Cereal Milk Cookie had an odd texture due to the cereal being stale and the Banana Bread Cookie tasted artificial and seemed undercooked. The Brownie was a good change of pace between the cookies. Though it was a little too sweet for my liking, its filling was a nice break of texture and taste between the brownie portion.

#2: Crave Cookies
Crave was serving the Marshmallow Mayhem, Brookie Way, Stuffed Cookies ‘n Cream, and Trickster Toffee. These turned out to be a lot better than Crumbl’s flavors. The Brookie had so many pieces that all fit together well and I loved the caramel in it. The cookies and cream wasn’t as sweet as I was expecting, which I was happy about considering how sweet the ones from Crumbl were. The marshmallow cookie was my least favorite. It had Rice Krispies mixed into the dough, but it threw the texture off and wasn’t a nice addition to the cookie. It was also entirely too sweet. The Trickster Toffee tasted like a chocolate bar but in cookie form. It was a nice surprise and definitely the most unique cookie out of the four options.

#1: Soul Bakery

Soul gave the flavors Chocolate Chip, Snickerdoodle, S’mores, Cookies ‘n Cream, Pumpkin Spice, and Banana Pudding. I was thoroughly satisfied with these cookies and, unlike Crumbl, it did not feel sickening to eat these ones. The Chocolate Chip, Snickerdoodle, and Cookies ‘n Cream tasted great, there was nothing extraordinary about them, but they were still amazing. The Pumpkin Spice cookie was absolutely phenomenal, the frosting and spices were perfect and I loved the texture and consistency of everything. It is the perfect cookie to start the fall season! The S’mores cookie was instantly much better than Crave’s Marshmallow Mayhem. The marshmallow was on top of the cookie, slightly melted, giving that perfect pull effect. The Banana Pudding was also a favorite! The vanilla wafers were a great addition adding a nice break in texture from the cookie and unlike Crumbl’s, the banana did not taste artificial. The variety of high quality menu items, makes Soul Bakery the perfect place to order from, and it is also a great way to support a local business.
