Apple announced the release of the iPhone 15, and the question about whether it is worth the purchase is rising once again. Every year, September is coveted with the anticipation of a new iPhone release, leaving people to wonder whether or not to ditch their old cell phones. The iPhone 15 promises many exceptional upgrades, but will they hold?
In recent years, Apple has released multiple phone versions to be more customizable to users’ needs. The Pro series always has the most up-to-date features, and the iPhone 15 Pro is no exception.
The purchase of this device comes with the A17 chip, the fastest chip ever to be implemented in a compact device. The processing speed is unmatched and creates riveting detail for gamers and photographers alike. The other significant difference between the base model and the pro is the battery life of 29 hours of video playback and the connectivity speed of wireless devices. While the talk of battery life in iPhones is an everyday conversation, the iPhone 15 Pro promises to be the best yet.
Videographers can shoot ProRes directly onto an external device and switch drives while the camera rolls. Overall, the iPhone 15 Pro has pledged to be the most innovative, but we find the truth from customers.
To find the inside scoop on the iPhone 15 Pro, I spoke with Taylor Mersmann, Walnut Grove journalism adviser, on her experience with the newest Apple Product. When asked about her overall opinion, Mersmann said, “No complaints about the new phone. It continues to be a high-quality smartphone experience.”
Apple claims the processing speed is unmatched by any previous product, but Mersmann says she “has not seen a big difference.”
“When I am on a good Wi-Fi network, it’s great, but I still have issues with ‘can you hear me now’ moments when there are not enough bars,” Mersmann said.
Even with the mediocre processing speed, Mersmann says the battery life is exceptional. She can go about a day and a half without charging on average.
The features may seem overwhelming to some, but to Mersmann, the USB-C port has become the most life-changing. When asked about this, she said, “As a photography teacher, I love the ability to plug an SD card reader into my phone and directly import images from my memory card. This makes on-the-fly photo posting much easier.”
She has yet to come across any unlikable features on the new iPhone. With every iPhone update, Apple includes a new revolutionary Camera.
“The camera is great. I don’t see a huge difference in nighttime or fast motion photos, but the extra zoom is an awesome feature,” Mersmann said.” I do see an improvement in camera quality.”
The titanium base of the phone has been advertised as almost unbreakable.
As someone who has already cracked my protection screen, I was pleased to see that the actual phone screen is just fine,” Mersmann said. Her overall experience has been positive, and she would repurchase this product.
Even with Apple falling short on some promises, such as increased nighttime camera caliber and exceptional processing speed, it has exceeded expectations with overall camera quality and battery life. Overall, the iPhone 15 comes well recommended and is an excellent addition to the Apple iPhone family.
