Ellie Schofield is a Senior at Walnut Grove High School. This is her first year on the Wildcats Wired newspaper team, and she serves as a Copy Editor and the Web Master. She hopes to share her love for writing through Wildcats Wired and improve her coverage and photography skills. She is also involved in NHS, StuCo, National English Honors Society and National Spanish Honors Society. In her free time she loves to paint, read, explore photography as well as film and spend time with friends and family.

The Pulsera Project booth consist of informational sheets, bracelet spreads, and the trifold board that travels with each school. The Pulsera Project stays at each school for two weeks before moving on to another state or district.

Its a really good opportunity to spread awareness for about topics like anxiety depression and stress, and make it known that its normal to have those things, Bowden said.

As a sure sign of confidence, senior Kaelin Eckels gives a big thumbs up in the middle of donating blood. She braved the blood drive today with two things to motivate her. I have a rare blood type, so I wanted to give that, said Eckels. Also I wanted to overcome my fear of needles. Kaelin fulfilled her goals with a smile.

As she explains the handout page, Spanish Teacher Gaby Mora passionately enlightens her AP 5 Literature class on Hispanic culture throughout history. Mora has been teaching in PISD for four years, and is starting her first year establishing a National Spanish Honors Society at Walnut Grove. “I reached out to the principal and asked to be a part of this because I want to provide opportunities for my students to help the community,” said Mora.
